Daniel James wants to play with Bruno Fernandes – that’s for sure – after he revealed that he wanted to be on close terms with the new signing.

“He is settling in great,” James told the club’s official website about Fernandes. “I know quite a few of the boys speak his language and he speaks great English as well.

“As soon as he came in he put his stamp on the game and he showed what he is about in that last game, on his debut. He was great, with the balls he played in behind and, for me, if we can get that bond, especially playing it in behind, I think that will be great.”

“We have a little break and it is nice to come out here and train, get a little bit of fitness and get a bit back into our legs,” he said.

“It is great. Obviously, these warm-weather camps always help and always benefit us when we get back home.

“It is obviously a little bit warmer than it is at home. It is good to get here and get the last few weeks out of our legs, which will really benefit us when we go back.”

James added: “That is why I am at this club, to win trophies. We have got a great chance in both of them.

“Obviously we have got the Premier League game on Monday and then we have got that Europa League game on Thursday, so we will go into both of those with our heads held high.”

Bruno Fernandes Has Fit Into Manchester United Like A Fish To Water – Diogo Dalot

Bruno Fernandes Has Fit Into Manchester United Like A Fish To Water - Diogo Dalot

Diogo Dalot is surprised by how well Bruno Fernandes has adjusted to life in Manchester.

The Red Devils spent roughly €80m in signing the midfielder from Sporting Lisbon in January.

He played his first game for United against Wolves last week which ended 0-0. Fernandes showed clear signs of maturity and creative ability that one expects from a player of his stature. His Portuguese compatriot and United fullback, Dalot praised the midfielder’s impact.

“Perfectly. I mean, it is like he has been here for two years already,” the full-back told the club’s website. “He is getting on very well with the lads, it is very good to have him here, it is very good for me, very good for the team, he is a fantastic player and a fantastic person. So, it is one more to help the team.”

United are set to face Chelsea on February 17 in their first game back from a short winter break. There is still hope of a top four finish as the Blues currently six points ahead. Dalot added, “That is why we are here. Man United always fights for trophies and to win games.

“Those competitions, we want to win them with everything we have and the fight for the top four in the Premier League, because that is what we want as players. I think we have everything to do that.”

Ed Woodward Points As The Next Transfer Window To Be The Turning Point For Manchester United

Ed Woodward Points As The Next Transfer Window To Be The Turning Point For Manchester United

Manchester United are in shambles at the moment and theire is no denying that fact, given their position in the Premier League.

Ed Woodward seems to believe that the club are still on the right path even if they are not quite perfect just yet. He also stated that the following transfer window will help in realigning United back to their winning ways.

The Red Devils club chairman said, “However, as a club and a board, we do recognise that we are not yet where we want to be. It is the overwhelming priority of everyone at the club to get us back to regularly challenging for Premier League and Champions League titles. Although progress may not always be smooth, everyone across the club is focused and committed on playing their part in helping achieve those aims.

“Significant work has already been done – and investments made – to strengthen the academy and we’re pleased with the progress being made behind the scenes to ensure we have the right players, the right infrastructure, and the right culture to sustain long-term success.

“Similarly, there has been extensive work on our recruitment process, with considerable investment in scouting, data and analytics. The recruitment department is working to a clear plan and philosophy, along with Ole and his coaching staff. Our focus is on bringing in a combination of experience and the best young players with potential to develop further, fusing graduates from our academy with high-quality acquisitions.

“Our recruitment process focuses on analysis and selection of players over the course of a season, with a view to the following summer transfer window. As part of the rebuild, we see this coming summer as an important opportunity.”

“We had consistently taken the view that – because January is not an optimal time in terms of availability of players – we would only buy in January if players we had already targeted for the summer became available and we were pleased that this strategy played out with the signing of Bruno Fernandes this week,” Woodward continued.

“Bruno Fernandes and the players we brought last summer are evidence that our process is the right one. There has been no shortage of investment in players over the past few years, with over £200million spent since Ole became manager; our aim is to ensure that we continue to achieve consistency in quality of recruitment.

“Off the pitch, it is important to note that the commercial elements of the club are geared to ensuring we have a self-sustaining model, which supports investment in the playing side.

“Meanwhile we continuously look for ways to improve the experience of fans – from the £11million investment to transform facilities for disabled supporters at Old Trafford, improvements in security, engagement with fan groups around stadium atmosphere or a potential rail seating trial, to ongoing reviews of match-day catering and beverage provision.”

Former United defender Ashley Young relishes new Inter Milan adventure

English defender Ashley Young has opened the lid on his new club Inter Milan and on Manchetser United’s exit.

“I think it was an incredible feeling. You could see the way we celebrated after the game showed the character and strength we’ve got. To go 2-0 down in a derby like that then come back and win, that shows our character,” Young told talkSPORT.

“It definitely is [up there]. I came here to play football and win games, and when you come and win in the Milan derby in the way we did, it’s just an incredible feeling. I don’t think it gets any better than that.”

And the former England international doesn’t appear to regret his winter transfer away from United, insisting it’s not bizarre at all to be wearing blue instead of red: “It’s not strange at all. I wanted a new challenge and I’ve got a new challenge and I’m loving every minute of my time out here.

Manchester United Plotting £150m Deal For Jack Grealish

Manchester United Plotting £150m Deal For Jack Grealish

Reports have quoted a ludicrous price of £150m for Manchester United to bring Jack Grealish to Old Trafford.

Well, if the Red Devils were to come forward with such an offer, Aston Villa will have no choice but to let him walk.

Grealish has reportedly already started looking at houses in the Manchester area despite not holding official talks with United. Aston Villa are currently involved in a heavy relegation battle with them currently only a point above the bottom three.

However, they are about to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final in March. It would be a dream for Grealish to lead his boyhood club to some sort of silverware but that would be highly unlikely against the Premier League champions.

Manchester United did improve their midfield by adding Bruno Fernandes this past month. The Portuguese international will add some vigour and more importantly, creativity to this lacklusture United side. Grealish also has the potential to be a key central figure if he were to make the record-switch from Villa.

The 24-year-old does seem destined on quitting the Midlands outfit after this season. His 12 direct goal contributions in 23 Premier League games suggest that he is far too good for a relegation-threatened team.

Fred rips into “Vanity” stars at Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Fred has launched a scathing attack on the players in the club.

United are currently 8th on the table.

However, what is even more scary for the Red Devils is that despite spending over 200 million Euros in the market this season, they have not looked remotely close to being a top team.

“We are lacking a lot right now,” Fred said.

“First of all we need to figure out things on the pitch, we are lacking creativity, especially in midfield.

“We also need to improve as a group, our group lacks the “sticking together” mentality’, we have lots of problems.

“There are a lot of discussion, every group has this sort of problem, but ours has this.”

Players like Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba who seem more interested in making it a one-man show than a team game have also been called out by Fred.

“Vanity is also an issue and we need to stop this and just run on the pitch.

“We need to stick a goal inside our minds, focus on it and go forward.

“We need to be on the same page and today some players have different objectives, there are players that just want to solve problems alone and this is wrong.”

The midfielder has been on United’s target for some timw now.

And he could move ot the Old Trafford in the summer.

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has reportedly given the go-ahead to join Manchester United. The English midfielder, who has scored nine times and contributed seven assists in 27 appearances for Villa this season, is believed to be on the radar of a number of clubs ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City are all thought to be interested in the Englishman, who is thought to be valued in the region of €70 milllion by Dean Smith’s side. However, United would allegedly be Grealish’s number one choice if the attacking midfielder left Villa Park in search of pastures new at the end of the 2019/20 season.

He believes his style of play is best suited to their way of playing. According to The Sun, formal transfer talks between the Red Devils and Villa are yet to take place, but the player has approved a move to Old Trafford this summer. The report claims that the 24-year-old has already started house-hunting in Manchester ahead of a potential switch to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The attacker, who is being tipped to earn a spot in the England squad for this summer’s European Championships, is Villa’s leading scorer in the Premier League this season with seven goals. Jack Grealish’s contract runs until 2023. It remains to be seen whether any of his potential suitors make a firm offer in order to get him.

Ighalo could possibly get Ole Gunnar sacked

Signing Odion Ighalo is seen as a bit of a risky move by Manchester United. That being said, Ole Gunnar is in danger of being sacked if Ighalo doesn’t work out well enough.

“Odion Ighalo could be the final straw at Manchester United. If that signing is a disaster then Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are in big trouble. Don’t get me wrong. He could rediscover the form he once he had at Watford and be a huge success. But he could be the biggest laughing stock the Premier League has ever seen,” Merson wrote for the Daily Star.

“Only time will tell. But remember, the last time he was here he only scored once in 18 games before Watford sold him and he’ll have gotten lazy playing in China. I’ve heard people compare it with Henrik Larsson because nobody expected him to still be any good when United signed him either.

“But Larsson had been world class. He had scored goals in major tournaments and won big trophies. And he still had his finishing and his movement. Ighalo doesn’t have any of that on his CV and he’s coming into a struggling team. The biggest one he’s ever played for.

“It’s a big ask, and if it all goes horribly wrong it will just pile more pressure on the manager because you’re always judged on your signings as well as your results.”

McTominay and Tuanzeme are set to return.

While, Rashford and Pogba will stay sidelined.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe are closing on Manchester United returns after revealing the pair will join the club’s Spanish training camp. But new signing Odion Ighalo will not join them.

United fly out to spend their winter break doing warm weather training in Marbella on Saturday. And both McTominay and Tuanzebe, neither of whom has featured for the Red Devils since December, have both been included in the travelling party.

According to Solskjaer, Scotland international McTominay is well ahead of schedule as he closes in on a first-team return. “Scotty has done better in his recovery than we thought, so we will take him with us,” Ole told MUTV. “Hopefully he can join in the training sessions and Axel as well, he’ll join in, so that’s two positives and it’s a good chance for them to use this time with the players.”

Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford are both still missing due to injury, while third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant is staying in England to undergo an operation: “Marcus and Paul are not ready yet to join in the training. Lee Grant unfortunately has had an injury, so he will require surgery, so he will be out for two or three months, so hopefully he’ll get back before the end of the season.”

Why Di Maria was forced to wear Number 7 at United

Di Maria was forced to wear Number 7 at United

Manchester United have made quite a few blunders in the last few seasons.

Ever since the great Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, the place has run on fumes and they have run the club more like a profit centre for business than a football institute.

They have done everything they can to capitalize commercially leaving the human and football factors in shambles.

The current duo of Ed Woodward, a director who knows nothing about football and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a manager who knows nothing about management has correctly portrayed the sad story of the club.

It seems though they have hit a new bottom with a new story revealed by former Red Devils winger Angel Di Maria.

Di Maria was signed as a superstar signing, one of United’s many commercial gimmicks and given the legendary number 7 jersey of Manchester United. However, is that what he really wanted?

“I don’t really know. When I arrived, I saw that the No.11 was available”, he said when asked why he took number 7.

“It’s a shirt number I wore a lot when I was younger and I was keen to get once again. At Real Madrid, No.11 was already taken, so I took 22. At Manchester United they gave me No.7, I didn’t get a choice. I would have liked 11 but there we are. Here (at PSG), I had a choice, so I chose 11!”

Oh dear, why United? Talk about a classic overkill.
